Garnet Point Resources Corp. begins drilling on Candle Lake Claim

Vancouver, BC April 3, 2004--Garnet Point Resources Corp. (the "Company") (TSX Venture: GRC) is pleased to announce that Larson Diamond Drilling Ltd. has today initiated the drill program on the Company's Candle Lake Claim.

The Company recently completed a ground geophysical program using the services of Spectra Management Corp. of La Ronge, Saskatchewan, to further delineate the airborne anomaly located on the NW Extension of the Fort a la Corne field. The Candle Lake Claim S-135692 is a magnetic feature that is on trend with the main Fort a la Corne field of diamondiferous kimberlites and is located near the field's northern extension.

The data collected by Spectra Management Corp. confirmed the presence of a drill worthy target which closely resembles previously drilled targets in the area that have resulted in diamondiferous kimberlite finds.

As previously announced, the Company entered into an option agreement with Global Prospecting Ventures, Inc. (OTCBB: GPVI) to earn up to a 75% interest in the Candle Lake Claim.
